frequently asked questions
What services does Sabarr support?
Sabarr supports SABnzbd (usenet downloader), Sonarr (TV automation), and Radarr (movie automation). Your servers can be on the same network or accessible remotely via Tailscale VPN.
How do I connect to my server?
Go to Settings, tap Add Connection, and enter your server URL and API key. Sabarr can also scan your local network automatically to discover services. You can test the connection before saving.
Where do I find my API key?
SABnzbd: Settings > General > API Key.
Sonarr: Settings > General > API Key.
Radarr: Settings > General > API Key.
Is my API key secure?
Yes. API keys are stored in the iOS Keychain with hardware-backed encryption. They are never stored in plain text, never synced to iCloud, and never sent to any third-party server. Sabarr communicates directly from your device to your servers.
Can I connect to servers remotely?
Yes. If your server is accessible over the internet (via port forwarding, reverse proxy, or VPN), just enter the external URL. For Tailscale users, Sabarr has built-in Tailscale support — add your Tailscale hostname and the app will automatically use it when connected to your tailnet.
What is Sabarr Pro?
Sabarr Pro unlocks advanced features: multi-server connections, adding new content, manual search and grab, full server configuration, all 7 themes, iCloud sync, push notifications, and background refresh. Basic monitoring is free.
How do I restore my subscription?
Go to Settings > Subscription and tap "Restore Purchases". Your subscription is linked to your Apple ID and will sync across all your devices automatically.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID. Go to iPhone Settings > your name > Subscriptions > Sabarr Pro, then tap Cancel. You will retain Pro access until the end of your current billing period.
The app cannot connect to my server
Check the following:
- Verify the server URL is correct (include port number, e.g., http://192.168.1.50:8080)
- Ensure the API key is correct and has not been regenerated
- Confirm your device is on the same network as the server (or has remote access)
- Check that the service is running and accessible from a web browser
- If using HTTPS with a self-signed certificate, try HTTP instead
What iOS version is required?
Sabarr requires iOS 17.0 or later.
